History Sept 02 - To date Hewlett Packard, (Interim Management) Interim Purchasing Consultant to HP's UK & I Managed Services Department. My role provides advice and procurement expertise to the department in support of HP/Compaq's UK managed services customers. I am required to use my knowledge and expertise to assist other members of the department to fulfil their supply chain roles, as well as taking an active part in the negotiations and formulation of contracts, as and when required. April 00 - June 02 Reuters Limited, Procurement Manager Global Sourcing Network Accountable to the UK Procurement Director for a £300M+ IT spend. My role provided support and procurement expertise for all global/local project based procurement activity requiring, data centre and desktop systems, networks, telcoms, satellite, software and/or hardware to the Reuters Group. Major Achievements: Contributed significant savings to the Group targets. For example a personal £700,000 bottom line saving booked in Q2/02, representing a 40% reduction against budget. Established supplier management procedures and policies for major vendors, i.e. IBM and CISCO. A departmental re-engineering process resulted with myself as the single point of reference to approve all IT hardware spend over £10,000. Established and broke new ground for the department with many internal clients against a background of adversity toward any interference in their autonomous business units. First point of contact for colleagues and internal clients in search of procurement advice and guidance. Two white papers written, (1) Leasing guidelines and (2) Purchasing card. As well as negotiating many of the largest contracts in the industry at the time (Oracle). I have also negotiated many other contracts with small businesses around the globe to provide strategic critical products and services. February 97 - April 00 National Westminster Bank Plc, Group Head Office Purchasing Manager Responsible to the Director of Procurement, I had direct responsibility for the strategic IT procurement to the NatWest Group. Major Achievements: The provision of the IT procurement strategy to enable the Group to meet its economic aims. Responsible for many of the largest contracts let at the time, i.e. Microsoft, Dell desktop hardware, and IBM outsourcing Responsibility for an IT spend of approximately £180M pa through project-managed procurement and/or implementing supply contracts. Savings in line with targets, typically providing 25 -30 % off budget. Established myself as the first point of contact for the provision of support and guidance to clients and colleagues through a lead role concept. Leadership to staff in which saw one individual grow from an administrative assistant to a successful senior buyer during my term. Successfully managed the transition of many contracts from businesses either sold or transferred to Royal Bank of Scotland.
April 96 - February 97 Hertz Europe Ltd, European Purchasing Manager Reporting to the European Purchasing Director, the position provided a centre of excellence for all IT, Travel and Facilities procurement. Major Achievements: Providing procurement expertise for the successful transfer of employees and equipment for a new Call Centre site in Dublin.
Overseeing the procurement assignments of this major project to build a call centre on a green field site with European subsidies.

Oct 95 - Dec 95 Verisign (Division of Intergraph Inc) Major Achievement: Successfully provided business and procurement advice relating to commercial matters to enable the division moves towards autonomy. July 88 - Sept 95 Procurement Manager Intergraph (UK) Ltd Reporting to the Finance Director in the UK the role involved total responsibility for all aspects within the company regarding its UK purchasing and procurement strategy for a £22M pa spend Major achievement: Successfully introduced a single source policy for the car fleet by negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, staff and management. Reducing cost by £150,000 pa.
